The management of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has issued a cautionary statement, urging the public to disregard allegations made by Femi Falana, SAN, regarding the agency’s alleged acquisition of three properties in England during the current administration.
Falana’s claims were presented on Sunrise, the morning show of Channels Television.
“NIMASA categorically refutes these allegations,” a statement from the maritime agency began, emphasising that it has not acquired any property in England or any other foreign country, a stance maintained for more than three decades.
“While the agency respects Mr. Falana’s perspective on public matters, NIMASA has requested that he take responsibility and retract the unfounded assertion.
“Also, NIMASA reminds the public, including Mr. Falana, of the importance of fact-checking before disseminating information,” the statement cautioned.
