…Announces partnership with LASG
The managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku has called on the public, particularly road users around the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, to exercise patience as construction work on some of the airport’s operational roads progresses.
During an inspection, Kuku assessed the ongoing work between the Toll Gate Plaza and Gate 13, known as the ‘service road’ of the airport. She expressed satisfaction with the quality and speed of the work and urged road users to cooperate to ensure the timely completion of the 2.4-kilometre road.
“This road should have been done years ago, but I am glad that we have started it,” Kuku said. “We need the full cooperation of all road users and members of the airport community to complete it on time and to the desired specifications.” She thanked the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for partnering with FAAN to expedite the project.
Kuku also highlighted the importance of productive partnerships, saying, “This collaboration is an example of the kind of productive partnerships we are open to encouraging at FAAN to enhance our passengers’ experience.”
She extended her gratitude to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, for his leadership, noting that “his oversight has kept the project on track.” A statement from FAAN’s director of public affairs and consumer protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah outlined that the project involves complete road reconstruction, drainage systems on both sides, sidewalks and streetlights. The project is expected to be completed within nine months.
