The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has commenced the installation of check in machines and screening equipment to address the airport operations and facilitation management systems challenges.
The machines/equipment are currently being installed at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja respectively.
A statement by the FAAN general manager, corporate affairs, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, said additional 15 security screening machines had also been procured for immediate deployment to the General Aviation Terminal and Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, adding they are also being installed already.
“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria wishes to inform airlines, passengers and other stakeholders that the equipment required for addressing these challenges have arrived Nigeria and are already being installed.
“The authority is using this opportunity to appeal to all stakeholders to please bear with us while the installation would last, as all hands are on deck to ensure speedy completion of the project. “FAAN is committed to her core values of safety, security and comfort,” it added.
