The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has bagged the Lateef Lawal Award for Airport Manager of the Year for its outstanding service delivery in the aviation sector.
Receiving the award at the just concluded League of Airports and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) 25th conference with theme – ‘Aviation in Nigeria: Management, policy and regulation’ the director of airport operations, Captain Mukhar Muye, who represented the organisation, expressed gratitude on behalf of FAAN and said the award meant a lot especially coming from the fourth estate of the realm.
Lateef Lawal was an aviation correspondent and founding member of the league whose exploits span over 40 years, he passed in 2020.
Muye pointed out that though it was not uhuru yet, but that FAAN under the current management had been striving for perfection to change the narrative of the old.
He said FAAN was improving the passenger facilitation process, as well as infrastructure of the old terminal while simultaneously trying to ensure the two new international terminals come on stream to give passengers an amazing new experience.
A statement by FAAN’s general manager, corporate affairs, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, said Muye promised the country’s international airports would soon be a nexus of activities as government had declared the four international airports special economic zones, stressing that it came with huge benefits and responsibilities.
