The executive vice chairman (EVC) of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mr. Khalil Halilu has urged media partners to improve their communication effectiveness to drive Nigeria’s industrialisation through innovation and technology.
He made this statement at a workshop training session for online media practitioners and staff of the information and new media unit in Abuja. The workshop was themed “Enhancing Effective Delivery of Communication Objectives in a Changing Digital Environment for NASENI Staff Writers and Online Media Partners.”
Halilu emphasised that the training aims to equip staff writers and online media partners with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles.
He pointed out that effective communication is vital for NASENI’s success in promoting Nigeria’s industrialisation through innovation and technology, and it is essential to raise awareness of the agency’s initiatives.
“As we navigate the ever-evolving digital media landscape, it is crucial to stay focused on our narrative content while keeping ourselves informed about the latest trends, ethics, tools, and best practices. This training is designed to equip you with the necessary skills to succeed in these roles,” he said.
“NASENI is committed to driving Nigeria’s industrialisation through innovation and technology. Therefore, effective communication is critical to our success in this endeavour. The results of this training will enable us to amplify our message, engage our audiences, and showcase our achievements,” he added.
Halilu encouraged participants to leverage the power of digital media to advance NASENI’s vision and promote science, technology, engineering and innovation, contributing to Nigeria’s prosperity.
The EVC also pledged to engage more media partners by 2025.
