The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has received commendations from the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) for its outstanding performance in a recent assessment report.
This recognition highlighted NASRDA’s dedication to excellence and its commitment to public service.
In an official statement by the director of media and corporate communication at NASRDA, Dr. Felix Ale, the director-general of BPSR, Mr. Ibrahim Arabi praised NASRDA during the presentation of its assessment report at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
Arabi emphasised that the assessment report, conducted by BPSR, meticulously evaluated various aspects of NASRDA’s operations, including efficiency, transparency and service delivery. NASRDA received an exceptionally high score, reflecting its excellence in leadership, stakeholder relations, responsiveness, efficient reporting, and robust systems and procedures.
The BPSR director-general noted that NASRDA boasts the best procurement process within the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, an achievement worthy of applause. He also highlighted that NASRDA has set a commendable standard for other agencies under the ministry, emphasising that public institutions serve as the government’s means of engaging with its citizens.
While congratulating NASRDA’s director-general on his exemplary leadership, Arabi encouraged both the staff and management of NASRDA to maintain their dedication, particularly in articulating the agency’s strategic objectives.
Arabi presented NASRDA with the Organisational Self-Assessment Tool Award, recognising its silver-level performance score of 71.25 per cent. He urged NASRDA to continue harnessing the power of space science and technology to address national challenges and promote Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
In response to the commendations, the director-general of NASRDA, Dr. Halilu Shaba expressed gratitude for the recognition from BPSR. He noted that the assessment report reflects NASRDA’s unwavering commitment to excellence in serving the nation.
Shaba highlighted NASRDA’s openness to constructive criticism and its dedication to advancing space science and technology for the benefit of all Nigerians. He underlined the importance of BPSR’s role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of public service delivery.
The NASRDA director-general reiterated the agency’s determination to continue pursuing excellence and innovation in the field of space research and development. NASRDA remains committed to the nation’s progress and the well-being of its citizens through the power of space technology.
