The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has praised President Bola Tinubu for retaining Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN as Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development following the recent cabinet reshuffle.
In a press statement, AON president, Alhaji Abdulmunaf Sarina applauded the president’s decision, citing Keyamo’s policies and leadership as catalysts for progress in Nigeria’s aviation sector. Sarina noted that Keyamo’s proactive engagement with industry stakeholders, focus on safety and commitment to both local and international airlines have helped restore confidence in the sector.
“His commitment to implementing the Cape Town Convention and ensuring adherence to international standards for aircraft financing is commendable,” Sarina said.
He also highlighted that under Keyamo’s leadership, Nigeria’s aviation sector rating improved from 40 per cent to 80 per cent. Sarina affirmed that AON would continue to support the minister’s innovative ideas for the growth and development of the aviation sector.
