The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN) today visited the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) headquarters.
The agency’s director-general, Prof. Mansur Matazu warmly welcomed him and guided him through a tour of crucial facilities in the agency.
During the visit, the minister explored the Central Forecast Office (CFO), where he received a comprehensive briefing on data generation, transmission and its translation into forecasts and other products. He also visited the numerical weather prediction (NWP) unit and the cutting-edge weather studio, where he presented a live weather update.
Following the tour, the minister expressed his admiration for NiMet’s extensive operations, stating, “The operations of NiMet are extensive and I am thoroughly impressed by what I have witnessed here. Their operations are impressive, and one can only wish them continued success”.
