The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has officially presented its 2025 budget of ₦71,123,368,069 to the Joint National Assembly Committee on Aviation and Aviation Technology.
The presentation took place at the National Assembly Complex.
During the presentation, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, emphasised the ministry’s commitment to transparency and accountability in managing public resources. He provided a breakdown of the 2024 budget performance, noting the following:
– Capital Appropriation achieved a utilisation rate of 30.9 per cent.
– Personnel Appropriation was fully utilised at 100 per cent.
– Overhead Appropriation recorded a near-complete utilisation rate of 99.97 per cent.
The minister outlined the proposed 2025 budget, which totals seventy-one billion, one hundred and twenty-three million, three hundred and sixty-eight thousand, sixty-nine naira (₦71,123,368,069). The allocation is distributed as follows:
– Capital Appropriation: ₦69,220,036,250
– Personnel Cost: ₦1,157,589,143
– Overhead Cost: ₦745,742,676
Keyamo stated that the proposed budget reflects the ministry’s strategic priorities in advancing the aviation and aerospace sectors, improving infrastructure and enhancing service delivery across the nation. He reiterated that the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development remains dedicated to fostering a safe, efficient, and innovative aviation industry for the benefit of all Nigerians.
