The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, on Tuesday hosted a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), led by its managing director, Dr. Armstrong Takang alongside representatives of their Qatari investment partner, Power International Holdings.

The visit aimed to explore strategic investment opportunities in Nigeria’s aviation sector as part of broader efforts to reposition it as a critical driver of economic transformation.

Takang lauded the minister’s recent adoption of the Cape Town Convention (CTC) and Irrevocable Deregistration and Export Request Authorisation (IDERA) framework, describing it as a “masterstroke” in unlocking capital inflows and building a resilient aviation sector. He noted that the reforms align with President Bola Tinubu’s vision of a trillion-dollar economy driven by strategic sectors such as aviation.

Keyamo expressed appreciation for MOFI’s interest and emphasised its role in bridging policy intent with private-sector capital. “Sound policy is the foundation of investment attraction. MOFI is indeed the missing link in our reform journey,” he said.

Both parties agreed to establish a joint working group to assess investment opportunities, conduct feasibility studies and develop actionable implementation strategies.

The visit represents a significant step in mobilising institutional and international capital for aviation infrastructure development – an essential component of the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda under President Tinubu’s administration.
