The Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, CON, has expressed shock and deep sorrow over the untimely death of the chairman of Katcha local government area in Niger State, Hon. Danlami Abdullahi Saku.
Saku tragically lost his life in a horrific road accident on the Minna-Suleja highway on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
In a condolence message addressed to the family of the late Saku, as well as to the people and government of Katcha local government area and Niger State, the minister expressed profound regret at the loss of a “dedicated, committed, and progressive office holder who always placed the needs of the people first and prioritised the acceleration of growth and development.”
Abdullahi reflected on Saku’s role as an effective political mobiliser. He noted that Saku’s strategic approach aimed to broaden the base of his political party by continually winning over and retaining new supporters.
“The late Hon. Saku and I worked together on Project 774, which was a key grassroots political structure for the Tinubu-Shettima presidential election campaign of 2023. Hon. Saku served as the coordinator for Katcha local government area and the electoral results demonstrated his remarkable ability to mobilise and organise,” the minister remarked.
In a statement released by the ministry’s director of information signed by Mrs. Mabel Obe the minister prayed that the Almighty grant the deceased access to paradise and comfort his immediate family, loved ones and political associates.
