Alhaji Abdullahi Sabi, father of the Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Dr. Aliyu Abdullahi, has passed away at the age of 100.
The incident occurred late on Monday night, September 23, 2024, in New Bussa. Funeral prayers and interment were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the Gbemusu’s Palace, New Bussa, Niger State.
Born in 1924, the late Abdullahi was the district head of Luma in Borgu Emirate Council, New Bussa, until his death.
A statement issued on behalf of the family by the minister, who is also the ‘Baraden Borgu’, recalled that the late centenarian was a former works superintendent, Supervisory Councillor of Borgu local government area and the pioneer chairman of Jamaatul Izalatul Bidia Wa Ikamatul Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Borgu Kingdom.
Describing the late Abdullahi as “a man of great patience and tolerance,” the family noted that he was installed as district head of Malale, his paternal grandmother’s home, by the former Emir of Borgu, Musa Mohammed Kigera III and was “the last man standing in support of the late Emir of Borgu, Senator Haliru Dantoro Kitoro III.”
The late Abdullahi is survived by his wives, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many relatives.
