The African Centre of Meteorological Application for Development (ACMAD) has indicated its interest in seeking collaboration with the Nigerian Meteorological (NiMet) Agency.
This was revealed during a courtesy visit to the Nigerian agency’s headquarters by the director-general of ACMAD, Andre Foamouhoue. Foamouhoue disclosed that he and the director-general of NiMet, Professor Charles Anosike, engaged in fruitful discussions on meteorology, climate change and their socioeconomic impact on Africa. Foamouhoue took the opportunity to update NiMet’s DG on ACMAD’s ongoing activities.
Anosike expressed NiMet’s commitment to maintaining a strong partnership with ACMAD, emphasising the critical services the organisation provides. He underscored the importance of member countries supporting ACMAD to enhance its operational efficiency and effectiveness.
The visit signifies a collaborative effort between ACMAD and NiMet to address meteorological challenges and contribute to the socioeconomic development of Africa.
