The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has congratulated Mr. Olusegun Awolowo on his emergence as the president of ECOWAS Trade Promotion Organisation (TPO) network, describing the appointment as a confirmation of his innumerable contributions to export and trade promotions within and outside Nigeria.
In a statement issued in Abuja and signed by the press officer to the chamber, Olayemi John-Mensah, ACCI said since his assumption of office as the chief executive officer of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Awolowo had introduced several initiatives to prepare Nigeria MSMEs for innovation and expansion.
“He has changed the face of NEPC and has fully prepared Nigeria for robust participation in African export market.
“NEPC under Awolowo has become a role model for other export promotions agencies in West and Africa Region and his appointment as president of ECOWAS TPO is a reward for innovative leadership and passionate commitment to the growth of MSME not only in Nigeria but Africa,” the statement said.
While urging the NEPC boss to continue his passionate support for MSME sector and trade promotion, the statement said ACCI “is convinced that West Africa region TPO under Olusegun Awolowo will not only take Nigeria to great height but will position West Africa as the dominant force in emerging Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) region.”
